Definition

Procedure is a text that show a process in order. 

Purpose/Goal

The purpose of a procedure text is to tell readers how to make or do something.

Generic Structure

1. Goal: showing the purpose

2. Material: Telling the needed materials

3. Steps: Describing the steps to achieve the purpose

Language Features

· Using temporal conjunction

· Using action verb

· Using imperative sentences

· Using Simple Present Tense

Example

How to Make White Coffee

Ingredients  : 

2 tablespoons Coffee powder

2 tablespoons of powder or Condensed-milk

1 tablespoon of Sugar

Hot water

Equipment  :

spoon

cup

Steps:

-     Firstly, put coffee powder into the cup.

-     Secondly, add powder/condensed-milk and some sugar.

-     Thirdly, pour hot water into the cup.

-     Then, stir the mixture well

-     After that, taste it. You may want to add more sugar or coffee powder or milk to make it tastes just right.

-     Finally, the white coffee is ready to be served
